Cloud Gateway

The Cloud Gateway serves as the cloud-native core of Cloud Broadband, transforming traditional broadband gateways into SDN/NFV-based architectures deployed as cloud-based software. It enables unified service orchestration and agile deployment, while supporting user access, traffic forwarding, and scheduling through a control-and-forwarding separation architecture. The solution delivers a wide range of services, including basic home broadband, acceleration, security, operations and maintenance, as well as value-added offerings such as cloud NAS and cloud computing. By empowering home networks through software-defined capabilities, it provides a stable and intelligent access foundation for high-quality services.

Core Features

1. Access Management: Establishes connections between the Cloud Gateway and telecom networks, including next-generation and traditional metropolitan area networks (e.g., CN2-DCI/163). Supports LAN-side and WAN-side connectivity for multi-site networking via vXLAN, SRv6, and L2TP tunneling protocols.

2. Packet Forwarding & Transmission: Handles IP packet routing and transmission with capabilities for data distribution, tunnel management, physical interface administration, and dynamic routing. Enables Layer 2 packet switching on the user side, directing traffic to the internet or edge applications with intelligent flow scheduling based on service type.

3. Addressing & Network Services: Manages gateway interface addressing and provides DHCP server functionality for client device IP assignment. Supports NAT translation between internal devices and WAN interfaces, including integrated DNS, ALG, and dynamic address management features.

4. Service Enhancement: Facilitates edge application access and enhances service performance through application integration, protocol proxying, load balancing, and traffic optimization mechanisms.

5. Quality of Service (QoS): Implements hierarchical traffic handling with service flow rate limiting, priority-based queue scheduling, and differentiated forwarding for multi-service environments.

Key Advantages

1.Cloud-Native Integration: Built on cloud-native principles, the solution supports containerized deployment and seamless integration with Kubernetes ecosystems. Enables centralized orchestration, elastic scalability, and rapid service rollout—with cloud-based updates taking effect across the network in minutes.

2.Embedded Security Architecture: Moves beyond perimeter-based security by embedding protection directly into the network fabric—including IP white/black lists, anomaly traffic filtering, and built-in threat mitigation—to provide layered, proactive defense for all network access.

3.Intelligent Operations & Visibility: Leverages centralized cloud-based telemetry to collect network-wide device, traffic, and performance data. Uses advanced analytics for predictive fault detection, automated fault isolation, and self-healing capabilities. Delivers end-to-end visibility into network topology, traffic patterns, and service quality, driving greater operational efficiency.
